' These three programs are for'compiling and playing HAM and non-HAM'animations. Movie is the anim player'and is required for viewing animations'created with the other two programs. 'it's age I assume it was created for'1.2 Amigas but didn't like the upgrade.'Pilbm was untestable as it has to be'used after dilbm. Pilbm and dilbm both'work from the CLI. I have included'this suit of programs because movie is'needed for viewing animations such as'"Kahnankas", "Rocker" or "F-15", the'latter reviewed in this issue.'Movie is such a big program, still over'70,000 bytes when compressed, that it'seems wasteful to include it with each'animation. Despite having given no'percentage be assured that movie works
as expected on a 1.3 Amiga.' Dilbm is for creating what are'called delta files. These are produced'by comparing the differences between'two frames of an animation. Once you'have created the necessary delta files'for each transformation in your'animation pilbm is used to string them'all together with a user-definable'pause for each frame displayed. That's'the theory anyway. For those who'understand these things these programs'use "J-type animation compression". I%just thought you'd like to know that.' The problems I had with dilbm'consisted of trying to enter the$following line to make a delta file.

'This crashed the Amiga after displaying'what I assume is a delta file picture.'No matter, there are much more'sophisticated anim makers about now.'This did look quite an easy one to use
